Job Overview

Veterinary Surgeon – Borough of Southwark, Greater London Permanent | Full Time

My client has an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join a team run by a lovely partner. This role offers the chance to work in a supportive and collaborative environment where patient care, client service, and clinical excellence are always the top priorities.

Dealership:
You will be working alongside an experienced Lead Vet, one RVN, one SVN, two VCAs and a welcoming client care team. Modern equipment and a varied caseload will give you an opportunity to develop your skills while maintaining a strong work–life balance. The clinic is undergoing a full refurbishment, providing a chance to contribute to the development of a modern, fully equipped practice.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct consultations and routine surgery with confidence.
  • Take sole charge on Saturdays and manage the clinical workload independently.
  • Use ultrasound techniques such as AFAST or TFAST when required.
  • Work closely with the veterinary team to deliver high‑quality patient care.
Qualifications
  • Two to three years post‑qualification experience as a Veterinary Surgeon.
  • Proficiency in both consultations and routine surgery.
  • Comfortable using ultrasound, especially AFAST or TFAST.
  • Strong team‑oriented approach with excellent interpersonal skills.
Benefits
  • Private medical insurance and a health cash plan covering dental, physiotherapy and optical care.
  • 24/7 private GP service and life assurance at three times your salary.
  • Access to professional counselling services.
  • Five weeks annual leave (plus bank holidays) rising to six weeks with service.
  • Additional paid “Day for You” and fully supported clinical CPD (£1,500 per year + three days paid leave).
  • Funded opportunities for certificates and full coverage of VDS, RCVS and BVA fees.
  • Pension scheme, sabbatical option, interest‑free season ticket loans and cycle‑to‑work scheme.
  • Full support for relocation or visa sponsorship.
