About

The Role

WWT London Wetland Centre is looking for a positive and proactive individual to join our Living Collections Team. You will have a keen interest in a range of wetland taxa with proven experience of their care and husbandry. There are exciting plans to diversify the collection in London by introducing new and exciting wetland inhabiting species that will add to what is already an engaging and memorable public experience.

This is a broad and varied position, and the delivery and maintenance of a high standard of presentation and hygiene throughout all the grounds areas, in addition to the living collection, are an essential part of the role. Duties will include the daily feeding, husbandry and welfare of the living collection, including enclosure maintenance, providing enrichment and record keeping.

Ideally you already hold, or are working towards, a recognised qualification in animal management and having some experience with a diverse range of taxa.

This is a full‑time position working 37.5 hours, 5 days a week from 7 am.

About You
  • Recognised NVQ L3 qualification or above in Animal Management.
  • Previous experience working in a zoo, wildlife park or similar with a diverse range of taxa.
  • A precise and consistent approach to animal keeping with the highest animal welfare standards in mind.
  • A positive approach to learning new husbandry and care techniques for a range of taxa.

We reserve the right to close the advert early if we receive a sufficient number of applications from candidates who meet the required skills and experience. We therefore encourage early applications.
