The Role

An established veterinary charity is seeking a qualified Veterinary Surgeon to join its friendly and supportive teams based in North London. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician who enjoys a varied caseload and wants to make a genuine difference to pets and owners within the community.

You will work with a wide range of medical and surgical cases, developing your clinical skills while delivering high-quality, welfare-focused care. No two days are the same, and you will be supported by experienced colleagues in a collaborative hospital environment.

About the Organisation

The organisation has been providing vital veterinary care for over 100 years, supporting pet owners facing financial hardship. It is currently on an ambitious journey to expand its reach and services, creating a forward-thinking, future-focused veterinary provision that supports both people and pets when they need it most.

About You

You will be a qualified Veterinary Surgeon with:

  • Confidence managing a diverse caseload across medicine and surgery
  • A pragmatic, evidence-based approach to clinical decision-making
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with clients
  • Experience discussing realistic treatment options that balance best practice with individual circumstances
  • A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for working within a supportive, team-based environment

Adaptability, resilience, and a strong focus on animal welfare are essential for success in this role.

The Facilities

The two clinics you will work between are modern, well-equipped sites offering:

  • Separate dog and cat kennelling
  • In-house radiography, ultrasound, and endoscopy
  • Piped gases
  • Extensive orthopaedic equipment

Teams benefit from a broad range of clinical interests, encouraging case discussion, shared learning, and professional development.

Benefits

The role offers an attractive benefits package, including:

  • Flexible working options to support work–life balance
  • CPD allowance of 5 days and £1,000 per year
  • Full payment of RCVS fees (where applicable)
  • Access to extensive internal CPD programmes and discounted external events
  • 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, with the option to buy or sell up to 5 additional days
  • Three additional paid days off annually (volunteering, celebration and wellbeing days)
  • Generous pension scheme (employer contributions from 5% up to 10%)
  • Life assurance (4x annual salary)
  • Employee Assistance Programme and private medical cover
  • Retail, holiday and lifestyle discounts
  • Enhanced family-friendly policies
  • Staff discounts on pet insurance and veterinary services
