Position Summary

The QC Technician is responsible for executing Quality Control operations, ensuring that digital media assets meet client specifications, studio QC standards, and compliance requirements. This role performs hands‑on QC tasks, supports QC Technicians as needed, and works closely with QC leadership and weekday QC teams to maintain continuity, productivity and accuracy in deliverables.

Working Hours

7‑day/fortnight shift

Key Responsibilities Quality Control and Technical Execution
  • Perform detailed QC reviews of digital media assets, including video, audio and subtitles, in accordance with client specifications and internal quality standards.
  • Complete QC reports, document findings clearly and accurately, and ensure issues are properly flagged and categorized.
  • Spot‑check and validate the accuracy of QC findings and metrics to support overall quality standards.
  • Verify issues related to audio/video/subtitle sync, validate HDR and Dolby Vision compliance, and monitor technical parameters using scopes and analyzers.
  • Ensure QC operations follow all relevant client and internal specifications for video, audio, subtitle and security compliance.
Operational Support
  • Support QC activities by providing status updates on tasks, issues and risks.
  • Follow established workflows, schedules and task assignments to help meet delivery SLAs.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers across multiple Client Focus Teams by providing clear updates on QC progress, potential issues and technical risks that could impact deliveries.
  • Participate in client supervised sessions as needed to provide technical QC input and answer questions within your area of expertise, helping represent the QC function professionally.
Communication and Reporting
  • Maintain clear, timely communication with QC leadership and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project hand‑offs.
  • Provide concise activity summaries and project status updates, including documentation of escalations and key technical issues.
  • Ensure secure handling of all media assets in strict adherence to company and client security policies and report any suspected security issues immediately.
Training and Team Collaboration
  • Participate in training sessions focused on technical skills, workflows and quality expectations.
  • Share technical knowledge and best practices with other QC Technicians, helping to foster a collaborative, quality‑focused team environment (without formal supervisory responsibilities).
  • Provide informal feedback and support to peers regarding QC techniques, tools and standards, escalating any performance or behavioral concerns to QC leadership as appropriate.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of professional experience in Audio/Video Master QC.
  • Strong understanding of professional audio/video formats, quality standards, codecs and specifications.
  • Hands‑on experience with QC workflows using NLE tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, Color front Transkoder).
  • In‑depth knowledge of scopes, analyzers and playback systems used for broadcast and streaming QC.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify, document and communicate complex quality issues.
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving and organisational skills.
  • Familiarity with both Mac and Windows OS and secure media network environments.
  • Experience working in a deadline‑driven production environment, coordinating closely with project teams and QC leadership.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with HDR workflows, including Dolby Vision and HDR
    10+.
  • Working knowledge of IMF and UHD formats, and streaming platform delivery specs.
  • Familiarity with Media Asset Management (MAM) and production‑tracking systems.
  • Experience contributing to SOPs or QC training documentation.
