Quality Manager THE ROLE

Quality sits at the heart of everything we do-our products are held to the highest standards, and our customers expect nothing less.

As Quality Manager, you will be the day-to-day guardian of product quality, food safety and technical compliance across our drinks and supplements portfolio. Working closely with co-manufacturers, ingredient suppliers and internal teams, you will ensure our products consistently meet TRIP's quality standards, regulatory requirements and premium brand positioning.

This is a hands‑on, operational role. You will spend your time engaging with suppliers, supporting new product launches, managing incidents when they arise, and keeping our quality controls sharp. You will report directly to the Head of Operations and work as a collaborative partner across supply chain, NPD, commercial and customer care.

Key Responsibilities Supplier & Co-Manufacturer Quality
  • Act as the primary quality contact for TRIP's co-manufacturers (including drinks and supplements contract partners), ensuring robust quality controls at every production run.
  • Manage supplier approval, ongoing quality KPIs, audit schedules and corrective action plans for key ingredients, packaging and finished goods.
  • Conduct and coordinate supplier audits; provide constructive, relationship-first feedback that drives improvement without damaging commercial partnerships.
  • Perform risk assessments on raw materials and suppliers; elevate material risks to the Head of Operations with clear recommendations.
Day-to-Day Quality Operations
  • Maintain and continuously improve TRIP's QMS, including HACCP, prerequisite programs, internal audit schedule and corrective/preventive action logs.
  • Oversee quality control across the full supply chain: raw materials, production, packaging, finished goods, storage and dispatch.
  • Manage and coordinate the TRIP product testing programme ensuring the full TRIP product range is tested in accordance with agreed schedules, regulatory requirements, internal quality standards and communicated to co-manufacturers.
  • Manage specification sheets, Bills of Materials (BOMs) and product documentation‑ ensuring alignment with the supply chain team and co‑manufacturer records.
  • Monitor quality KPIs (out‑of‑specification incidents, customer complaints, defect rates, returns) and drive continuous improvement activity where trends emerge.
New Product Development Support
  • Partner with the NPD and R&D teams to provide quality and technical input throughout new product development — from ingredient approval to launch.
  • Oversee trial sign‑off, shelf‑life studies, stability testing, sensory alignment and packaging integrity for new products.
  • Ensure all new products are launched with full specification compliance and complete quality documentation.
Compliance & Certification
  • Ensure compliance with relevant food and drink legislation, regulatory requirements (including FSA and MHRA for supplements), and third‑party certification standards (e.g. BRC, ISO 22000, GFSI).
  • Manage certification renewals, documentation and records to maintain TRIP's compliance position.
  • Stay current on regulatory developments relevant to beverages and food supplements; flag emerging risks proactively.
Incident Management & Investigations
  • Lead complaint investigations and quality incidents with tenacity — from initial triage through to root cause analysis and prevention of recurrence.
  • Support the customer care team with expert technical knowledge on product quality queries and complaint resolution.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional problem‑solving across operations, supply chain and NPD when quality challenges arise.
ABOUT YOU Essential
  • Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology or a related discipline.
  • Solid experience (3+ years) in a quality or technical role within the beverage, food or food supplement sector.
  • Hands‑on experience working with co‑packers or contract manufacturers.
  • Strong working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, prerequisite programs and food safety certification schemes (BRC, ISO 22000, GFSI).
  • Proven ability to manage supplier quality: audits, KPI reporting, corrective actions.
  • Confident communicator — able to hold suppliers to account…
