Quality Manager – Data Centre & Technology Projects

An established international technology infrastructure and data centre delivery organisation is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead and strengthen quality assurance across its project portfolio.
Reporting into the technical leadership team, you will be responsible for defining, implementing and embedding quality standards across complex technology and data centre projects. The role will initially focus on key strategic project portfolios, with the longer-term opportunity to develop and lead quality management across the wider operations function.
This is a hands-on role combining office-based quality management with regular travel to client and project sites. You will carry out audits, inspections and quality reviews while working closely with project teams, operational leadership, clients and subcontractors to drive consistent standards and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities Quality Standards & Systems- Develop, implement and maintain quality assurance policies, standards and procedures.
- Ensure project delivery aligns with company standards, client specifications and relevant industry standards.
- Support the implementation and application of quality management systems, including ISO 9001 principles.
- Develop and improve quality plans, procedures, templates and project documentation.
- Plan and lead independent quality audits and reviews across live and completed projects.
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality assessments.
- Identify non-conformances and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
- Monitor quality risks and support mitigation strategies across project delivery.
- Analyse audit findings and project performance data to identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities.
- Work closely with Project Directors, Operations Managers, Project Managers and site teams to address quality concerns.
- Support multiple projects across design, delivery, testing, handover and close-out phases.
- Review technical documentation, including specifications, drawings and schematics.
- Support pre-construction, pre-sales and bid teams by identifying potential quality and operational risks.
- Ensure quality requirements are considered throughout the full project lifecycle.
- Deliver training and guidance to project teams, contractors and relevant internal stakeholders.
- Support teams in developing and maintaining appropriate quality documentation.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and proactive quality management.
- Analyse project lessons learned and use findings to improve future delivery.
- Maintain centralised quality documentation, including quality plans, audit records and reports.
- Produce quality reports and performance updates for senior management.
- Work directly with clients and external quality representatives during inspections and project reviews.
- Communicate quality expectations and requirements across internal and external project teams.
- Build strong working relationships with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors and delivery teams.
- Extensive experience in QA/QC or quality management within technology infrastructure, structured cabling, ICT, security or data centre environments.
- Proven experience assuring quality on large-scale or hyperscale data centre projects.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems, including ISO 9001:2015.
- Experience conducting on-site audits, inspections and quality reviews.
- Proven ability to define and implement quality standards, processes and documentation.
- Strong understanding of technical documentation, including specifications, drawings and schematics.
- Experience supporting multiple projects and stakeholders across different stages of delivery.
- Strong knowledge of risk management, non-conformance and corrective action processes.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Experience working with clients and presenting quality information to senior stakeholders.
- Understanding of project contracts, scope and deliverables.
- Experience supporting or contributing to pre-sales and bid activities.
- Working knowledge of PRINCE2 or equivalent project management methodologies.
- Ability to provide leadership, guidance and training to multidisciplinary teams.
- Willingness to travel regularly across the UK and occasionally internationally.
