Mechanical Inspector

Mechanical Inspector - We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Inspector to join our aerospace inspection team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in manual inspection techniques, GD&T, use of shadow graph/optical comparators, and conducting First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).

• Perform detailed inspections of aerospace components against engineering drawings and specifications using GD&T principles.
• Conduct manual inspections using precision hand tools (callipers, micrometers, height gauges, Go/No-Go gauges) and optical comparators/shadow graphs.
• Execute and document FAIRs/FAIs, preparing accurate inspection reports and non-conformance documentation where required.
• Verify dimensional and visual conformity throughout production and during final inspection.
• Work closely with production and engineering to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain inspection records and ensure measuring equipment is calibrated and traceable.
• Ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards and customer requirements.

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Inspector ideally with knowledge of the aerospace industry.
• Strong understanding and practical application of GD&T.
• Experience performing FAIRs/First Article Inspections.
• Proficient with shadow graph/optical comparator operation and interpretation.
• Excellent manual inspection skills with precision hand tools.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and clear written/verbal communication.
