With the expansion of Tropics crop field trial portfolio, we have a new, exciting opportunity for a Crop Trials Study Manager to join the Product Evaluation team, supporting our global field trial strategy and regulatory efforts.
Job PurposeA Crop Trials Study Manager is required to support the growing number of banana trials being conducted simultaneously across multiple geographies. The role will be responsible for designing and overseeing field trials, both independently and in collaboration with Tropics partners.
The Crop Trials Study Manager will primarily oversee banana field trials across multiple locations, including plant inventory management, trial design, trial implementation, evaluation, and data analysis. As Tropic continues to expand its field trial portfolio to support increasing commercial activities, this role will ensure effective management of trials throughout the product life cycle. This includes proof-of-concept studies to identify development leads, as well as pre-commercial and commercial field trials to support product development and market readiness.
Responsibilities- Manage a variety of regulated banana field trials.
- Develop study protocols and protocol amendments, in collaboration with study participants and external collaborators.
- Support applications for confined field test permits across different regulatory geographies.
- Monitor the performance of external partners through regular interaction and occasional audit.
- Evaluate field trial data and prepare study reports.

Technical Requirements- PhD or MSc (or equivalent professional experience) in a relevant discipline such as Plant Pathology, Agronomy, Agriculture, Biotechnology, Agricultural Data Science, or a closely related field.
- Extensive experience in crop field trial design, implementation, and data analysis.
- Strong commitment to generating and interpreting high-quality data, with strict adherence to all applicable regulatory requirements.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Good ability to synthesize and summarize complex datasets.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Good team player, strong execution, and flexibility to handle changes in a fast‑paced environment.
Experience in the banana industry is considered an advantage.
