Position: Senior Analyst (Middle East)
Location: Greater London

We are looking for a Senior Analyst to support the measurement and assessment of ongoing communications campaigns. This role will see the Senior Analyst working as part of a core team – known as Insights, that supports M+C Saatchi World Services’ communications campaigns, and contributing to three functions:
Research;
Media Monitoring; and Geopolitical Analysis. World Services is a specialist division of M+C Saatchi Group. Partnering with governments, civil society, foundations, academia, and the private sector, we work on the critical issues of our time, including national security, social justice and conflict prevention.

ABOUT

THE ROLE

For the Research functions, the Senior Analyst will provide Target Audience Analysis (TAA) insight to support programme management teams. Target Audience Analysis involves assessing groups or individuals in order to identify sociological, anthropological and psychological characteristics that can be used to plan and design strategic communications campaigns.

For the Media Monitoring functions, the Senior Analyst will gather and interpret all forms of open-source research, including using monitoring tools.

For the Geopolitical Analysis functions, the emphasis is on high-level analysis on countries and regions, with the output being used to inform the direction of communications campaigns.

This role is a fixed-term contract until October 2026.

What you'll do
  • Assisting with the development, administration and interpretation of survey instruments and qualitative instruments, such as focus group discussion guides.

  • Expert use of monitoring tools to gather open‑source research, pulling out findings, providing analysis and preparing draft briefings and written reports to be reviewed by senior staff.

  • Responding to requests for insight and information from other departments.

  • Fusing primary field research (quantitative and qualitative), social media and open‑source research to produce actionable insight pieces.

  • Providing regional expertise (e.g. West Africa, North Africa, Near East, Middle East, East Africa, Afghanistan, Indonesia, East Europe) or thematic expertise (e.g. far‑right extremism (XRW), gender‑based violence, Islamist violent extremism, cybercrime, water conflicts, etc.).

  • Providing a single point of contact for audience insight to the project team.

  • Providing insight to support development of communications strategies, creative briefs, campaign assessment reports and other ad hoc research tasks as directed.

  • Conducting desk‑based research.

  • Producing focused assessments at the strategic, operational and tactical level.

  • Providing support to other project, regional or thematic analysts as required, including covering sickness or holiday.

  • Participating in the culture of the wider team and agency (e.g. contributing to team meetings).

  • Engaging with external suppliers to trial new products, troubleshoot services and update suppliers with new parameters or tasks.

ABOUT YOU

You are an insightful and curious analyst who enjoys transforming complex information into clear, actionable insight. You bring experience in research, monitoring or geopolitical analysis, and you're comfortable working with diverse data sources—from open‑source reporting to social media and qualitative fieldwork. You communicate clearly, write to a high standard, and can manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. You may have regional or thematic expertise, and you’re eager to deepen your knowledge while contributing to meaningful, impact‑driven communications campaigns.

You'll

bring
  • Degree in War Studies, International Relations or related subject with a military/geo-political focus.

  • Interest in a specific geographical area (West Africa, North Africa, Near East, Middle East, East Africa, Afghanistan, Indonesia, East Europe).

  • Excellent analytical skills.

  • Excellent writing and good presentational skills.

Bonus points if you have
  • Experience using of monitoring tools, such as Talk Walker, News Whip etc.

  • Fluency in additional languages:
    Russian, Arabic, Farsi, French, Spanish, others.
