Statistical Research Intern

Internship Duration

10–12 weeks, full‑time (40 hrs/week) over the core summer period with a flexible start (ideally mid‑May to early June). Extensions into Aug–Oct may be available, shifting to part‑time (~10 hrs/week).

$25.00 in the US

The intern will work directly with the Chief Scientist and SVP of Data Science on large‑scale statistical analysis projects, contributing to the development and refinement of 2026 U.S. election forecasting models.

• Support the design and execution of statistical analyses at scale.
• Assist in building and validating predictive election models.
• Help interpret results for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Strong written and verbal communication will be expected, as findings may need to be clearly conveyed across the organization.

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's programme in statistics, quantitative social science, or a closely related field.
• Practical working knowledge of Multilevel Regression with Post‑stratification (MRP), applied statistics, and econometrics is essential.
• Comfortable working with large datasets and have hands‑on programming experience in R.
• Strong written and oral communication skills are required, along with the ability to learn new software and techniques independently.
• A high degree of attention to detail and commitment to accuracy is expected.
• Familiarity with LLMs is a plus but not required.
