Role Overview

We are currently looking for a Research Scientist or Senior Scientist to join a leading biopharmaceutical company’s innovative antibody development team. This exciting opportunity is based within a forward-thinking organization focused on advancing digital antibody design and engineering. The role is based in a collaborative environment that combines wet‑lab and computational expertise to accelerate the development of next‑generation medicines. It is a contractor position designed for professionals passionate about biophysical characterisation and digital technology integration in antibody research.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Generate and analyse biophysical data for panels of antibodies or proteins to support digital antibody engineering initiatives.
  • Assess molecule quality, such as purity and stability, ensuring data integrity before further analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with computational scientists, capturing data in formats suitable for digital interrogation and model development.
  • Work flexibly to deliver accurate results within agreed timelines, contributing to project milestones.
  • Develop new methodologies for antibody characterisation and innovative approaches to refine biophysical assessments.
Requirements
  • A degree or higher level in a relevant field (e.g., Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or Protein Science).
  • Proven experience in biophysical characterisation techniques, such as affinity measurement, thermal stability, self‑interaction, and non‑specific binding assessments, ideally within an antibody or protein context.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and IT skills, coupled with a proactive and collaborative approach.
  • An inquisitive and innovative mindset, with the ability to quickly learn new techniques and adapt to evolving project needs.
