General Description
Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) offers a range of PhD research opportunities within the School of Politics and International Relations. These studentships support doctoral research across a broad spectrum of political science, international relations, and political theory topics, providing a platform for rigorous academic inquiry and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Eligibility Criteria- A first-class or upper second-class undergraduate degree in politics, international relations, or a closely related discipline
- A relevant master's degree is desirable but not essential
- Demonstrated research potential and motivation to undertake independent doctoral-level study
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to design and conduct independent research
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with relevant research methodologies in political science or international relations
- Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a research community
- Interest in interdisciplinary and policy-relevant research
Dependent on the funding source; fully funded studentships typically cover tuition fees and provide a maintenance stipend in line with UKRI or equivalent rates.
