Are you a Postdoctoral Researcher, Research Fellow or Nanofabrication Scientist with experience of Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) looking for a long‑term career opportunity outside the traditional academic pathway? Do you want to remain hands‑on with cutting‑edge thin film and nanofabrication technologies while gaining greater job security, flexibility and work‑life balance than a typical postdoctoral position can offer?
This is a rare opportunity to join one of the UK's leading research institutions and take ownership of a specialist nanofabrication and cleanroom facility supporting world‑class research across physics, engineering and advanced materials science.
The facility houses highly advanced thin film deposition and characterisation equipment, including ALD and PVD systems, supporting researchers working on cutting‑edge scientific projects. You will work alongside academics, researchers and PhD students, helping develop fabrication processes, supporting experiments and enabling high‑impact research.
Unlike many traditional academic career paths, this position offers the opportunity to continue working with advanced deposition technologies and cutting‑edge research equipment without grant‑related uncertainty. The role provides long‑term stability while allowing you to remain technically involved in research and process development.
