About the roleA Research Associate position in the laboratory of Professor Jessica Strid (Department of Immunology and Inflammation). The role is part of a research programme investigating the link between allergic type2/IgE responses in the skin, the peripheral nervous system, inflammation and cancer immune‑surveillance. Responsibilities include developing and executing experiments, ensuring data validity, record‑keeping, independent and collaborative work, and communicating findings through reports and papers.
Whatyou would be doing
- Take initiative for the planning and execution of research, including the identification and development of suitable techniques and analysis.
- Ensure the validity and reliability of data at all times, maintaining good record‑keeping.
- Work independently and as part of a team toward common goals.
- Communicate work in written reports, papers, and presentations, fostering a collegial and harmonious work environment.
- PhD in immunology or a relevant discipline (or candidates who have not yet been awarded will be appointed as Research Assistant).
- Strong organisational and communication skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Experience with tissue immunology and in vivo models.
- Technical know‑how in FACS, imaging, and transcriptomic analysis.
- Innovative thinking, initiative, and good interpersonal skills.

This is a PhD‑level role; candidates not yet awarded a PhD will be appointed as Research Assistant. The position is a full‑time post, 35 hours per week, fixed‑term contract for 30 months.
