Camden is changing on the inside to make life better for everyone. Our residents and communities are at the heart of everything we do. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today and we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all.

What You’ll Be Doing / How You’ll Be Involved

This post sits within Camden Council’s Public Health Intelligence (PHI) team, playing a key role in strengthening research and evaluation practice across the Health and Wellbeing department. As part of a multidisciplinary team of researchers, analysts, and data specialists, you will contribute to an expanding function that combines research, analytics, and data to support evidence-based decision-making across the borough.

Working closely with the Lead Public Health Researcher, you will help embed high-quality research methodologies into policy, strategy, and service delivery. This will include supporting health needs assessments, evaluations, and wider departmental activity, ensuring that insight and evidence are central to shaping effective outcomes.

You will design and deliver a broad range of research and evaluation activities, including evidence reviews, co‑production and resident engagement, primary data collection, and mixed‑methods evaluations of varying scale and complexity. In addition, you will support the development of training and guidance to build research capability across the department and contribute to a wider network of researchers across the Council.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS. Please note Camden also offers the DBS update service.

You will have a solid grounding in public health, with knowledge of health inequalities, the wider determinants of health, and appropriate methodologies to address complex public health challenges. An understanding of local government, the health system, and the UK research landscape will support your ability to operate effectively within this context.

You will be confident in building and maintaining collaborative relationships across organisations, including with academic institutions, health services, the voluntary sector, and local communities.
