Postdoctoral Research Associate - COSPI; Redeployee

Background

The Department of Sociology and Criminology is a leading centre for research, with 88% of research submitted to  rated as world‑leading (4*) or internationally excellent (3*) quality, placing it 5th in the UK and 1st in London. It supports the Centre for Online Safety, Safeguarding, Privacy and Identity (COSPI) and its co‑directors, Professors Myers and Rajarajan.

• Identify funding opportunities and support preparation of research grant applications.
• Contribute to design and delivery of research projects.
• Design questionnaires, collect and analyse data, conduct research interviews, and support stakeholder engagement.
• Develop and deliver school‑based training and CPD programmes.
• Execute project administration and contribute to knowledge exchange and impact activities that enhance the work of COSPI.

• Postgraduate qualification in Sociology, Criminology or a very relevant discipline with experience of social science research.
• Keen interest in debates surrounding online safety.
• Strong qualitative and/or quantitative research skills, including data collection, analysis and reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organisational and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience with funding applications, training development, project coordination, and working within a higher education or research environment (advantageous).
