On the 1 August 2026, the University of Greenwich and the University of Kent will form a pioneering new multi-university group called London and South-East (LASE) University Group. The University of Greenwich is looking to appoint a Post Doctoral Research Assistant to conduct research and development activities concerning various solid waste-based feedstock and convert those into chemical/construction products using CO2mineralisation approach. Manufacturing of new ‘product(s)’ and their life cycle analysis (LCA) and techno economic analysis (TEA) will also be undertaken in this role.

The primary purpose of this role is to undertake a leading role in the research programme involving (1) waste screening, characterisation, (2) valorisation using CO2mineralisation, and (3) product(s) characterisation including LCA and TEA.

The successful candidate needs to understand the risks associated with waste material handling and testing, and demonstrate an advanced knowledge of physical and chemical characterisation/testing of products. Data collection, interpretation and professional report writing skills are required.
