Role DescriptionWe are looking for an exceptional Global Trade & Policy Analyst to join our research team.
The successful candidate will be required to produce high-quality, evidence‑ and interview‑based research on a range of issues including global trade and investment, digitalisation, data/data governance, geopolitics and energy security. The candidate must have exceptional writing skills and produce concise, well‑written briefing papers, research reports and market intelligence. We are looking for someone who can analyse the implications of economic and political developments;
make the connections between economics, politics, technology and business; identify emerging trends; and explain their implications to a business and policy audience.
Asia House is a platform which convenes global leaders in policy and business, and much of our research is interview‑based. The successful candidate will be heavily involved with convening round tables and focus groups to collate insights for our research and facilitate discussion and debate.
While our focus is primarily Asia and the Middle East, the successful candidate must be able to bring a global perspective to our research.
Main Duties and Responsibilities- Produce original, high‑quality research and first‑class analyses on topics relevant to Asia House clients.
- Support the publication of Asia House flagship reports.
- Lead bespoke, client‑commissioned research projects.
- Support the preparation of interviews, events and discussions involving senior business leaders, government ministers and policymakers.
- Work across a range of subjects including trade, investment, industrial strategy, technology, AI, financial markets, supply chains and regulation.
- Support the wider Asia House Business and Policy team, which includes convening briefings and events for corporate clients.
- A minimum of three years’ professional experience in a relevant role, most likely in financial or macroeconomic research, strategic consulting, government/public policy or international trade and investment.
- Excellent analytical and critical‑thinking skills.
- Outstanding written English and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.
- A strong understanding of macroeconomics and international trade.
- A broad interest in geopolitics, technology, public policy and global business.
- Excellent research skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders and contributing to high‑quality publications and events.
- The successful candidate must be a self‑starter and a team player.
- Salary:
Competitive, commensurate with experience - Contract type:
Full time, permanent (subject to a six‑month probation period)
