About the Role
The position is a joint initiative between Queen Mary University of London and AstraZeneca. The successful candidate will be based at the AstraZeneca Discovery Centre in Cambridge and will work on the development of innovative multimodal deep learning methodologies to accelerate drug discovery. The project focuses on integrating advanced omics technologies (transcriptomics, proteomics) and imaging data to build predictive systems and provide biological insights.
The postholder is expected to travel to DERI periodically for research and training.
- Develop and implement deep learning models for multimodal data integration.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in life sciences and AI.
- Conduct research on transcriptomics, proteomics, and imaging modalities.
- Perform data analysis, model training, and validation.
- Present findings to internal stakeholders and at external conferences.
- Travel to DERI periodically for training and collaboration.
- PhD (or near completion) in computer science, bioinformatics, or a related field.
- Experience with interdisciplinary research and a strong interest in life sciences.
- Proficiency with deep learning frameworks and multimodal data analysis.
