R&D Partners is seeking a Preclincal Research Scientist to join a leading biotechnology company in the UK. This role focuses on advancing discovery programs toward clinical development through in vivo potency and toxicology studies. The ideal candidate will have expertise in molecular biology, AAV gene therapy, and small animal models, with a strong emphasis on delivering high-quality experimental outcomes.

Responsibilities:- Design and conduct laboratory and in vivo studies using specialised biological models to support research and development activities.
- Work closely with research, quality, and compliance teams to generate robust experimental data and support programme objectives.
- Introduce new methodologies and technologies to improve laboratory efficiency, automation, and research capabilities.
- Author SOPs, technical procedures, and supporting documentation to ensure consistency, reproducibility, and compliance with internal standards.
Education:
- PhD in Biochemistry, Biology, or a related Life Sciences discipline with experience in neuroscience, ocular research, or a relevant field; OR
- MSc in a biological discipline with 2+ years of academic or biotechnology industry experience in molecular biology and laboratory research; OR
- BSc in a biological discipline with 4+ years of academic or biotechnology industry experience in molecular biology and laboratory research.
- Experience in molecular biology, histology, in vivo research models, and advanced therapeutic or biologics-based research programmes.
- Experience working with small animal models in a regulated research environment would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of experimental design, data interpretation, and laboratory process improvement.
- Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
