Job Description

DC Byte is the leading provider of market data, research, and intelligence for the global data centre sector. At the heart of an industry that quietly keeps the world connected, our technology-led platform empowers the key players designing and developing digital infrastructure to make high-stakes, multi-billion-dollar investment and strategy decisions. We deliver the most accurate, real-time, and unbiased insights into colocation and self-build enterprise assets worldwide—supporting developers, investors, and operators, including the world’s largest hyperscalers.

We’re looking for an experienced Research Manager to join DC Byte in London and lead our regional research capability, taking ownership of research quality, market coverage, team performance and client-relevant insight across EMEA. You’ll lead a team of 7 analysts (and growing!) and report to the SVP of Research. You’ll shape regional research priorities, develop the team, build relationships across the data centre ecosystem and represent DC Byte externally, ensuring our data and insight remain accurate, relevant and commercially useful.

If you enjoy leading research teams and have experience combining data centre market expertise with senior client and stakeholder engagement, this role is for you.

The ideal candidate is:

  • an experienced data centre sector professional with the knowledge and judgement to hold credible industry conversations from the outset
  • an established people manager with experience managing and developing a research, market intelligence or data-led analytical team, including responsibility for performance, workload management and delivery quality
  • knowledgeable about the principal themes shaping the data centre industry
  • able to build and maintain productive relationships across the data centre ecosystem and use those relationships to develop differentiated and proprietary market intelligence
  • experienced in leading research quality, establishing priorities and maintaining timely delivery across a regional team with competing responsibilities
  • confident presenting research and defending conclusions in front of senior stakeholders
  • a strong stakeholder manager with experience working effectively across different departments, including senior leadership
  • an excellent written and verbal communicator who can explain complex market developments clearly and authoritatively, to both industry and media
  • someone with strong judgement, intellectual curiosity and attention to detail, with experience building structure, accountability and consistent standards within a growing team or evolving research environment

In this job you will:

  • lead the EMEA research function, taking responsibility for regional research quality, delivery, market coverage and team performance
  • translate DC Byte’s global research strategy into clear regional priorities, delivery plans and measurable expectations, setting the direction for EMEA market coverage
  • ensure regional data, commentary and market intelligence are accurate, well‑evidenced, timely and aligned with DC Byte’s research methodology and quality standards
  • manage team capacity and develop ability across recurring research, market monitoring, client requests and strategic projects
  • develop and maintain relationships across the EMEA data centre ecosystem, using these relationships to generate proprietary intelligence
  • act as a credible regional authority on the data centre market by preparing and delivering research presentations and briefings, representing DC Byte at industry events, and contributing to market reports, thought leadership, press and media activity
  • act as the primary Research partner for EMEA Commercial teams, supporting strategic client conversations and helping distinguish between client demand, research priorities and broader product requirements
  • partner with Product and the Research Operations Manager to improve datasets, platform functionality, regional methodologies and workflows, and to address research coverage or quality gaps
  • maintain clear communication with global Research leadership on regional performance, priorities, risks, opportunities and resource requirements

In return, you’ll receive from us:

  • 25 days annual leave (excl. bank holidays), increasing to up to 29 days
  • Christmas Week closure
  • Enhanced pension contribution: we match up to 5%
  • Private health insurance with Vitality
  • Generous anniversary rewards, incl. access to career coaching, vouchers for days out and a holiday stipend
  • Up to one month working remotely per year
  • £150 stipend towards your homeworking set up
  • Access to Government Cycle Scheme
  • Free coffee, tea, drinks and snacks in the office

60000 - 80000 GBP (yearly)
