Head of Research - AI FinTech

Oliver Bernard have recently partnered with a high-growth AI fintech start-up who are looking for a Head of Research to lead a small, highly technical team.

This is not a traditional management role
, you’ll be hands-on with the research while also owning the technical direction and helping take models into production.

• Lead and mentor a small research team
• Build and fine-tune models, including LLMs + supervised fine-tuning
• Set the research agenda and turn research into production-grade AI
• Solve challenges around scale, reliability, cost and latency
• Develop smaller, use-case-specific models to process millions of cases each month
• Help build AI systems for a highly regulated environment

• Strong hands-on research background
• Proven experience building models and fine-tuning LLMs
• Comfortable bridging research production
• MLOps/deployment experience is a bonus, but not essential
• Someone who thrives in a high-ownership, early-stage environment
