Reporting to: Head Chef
Role Overview:
Support
the Head Chef in preparing and delivering small plates to a high standard. This
is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a busy service environment, takes
pride in details, and enjoys working as part of a close team.
- Set up your section and the kitchen before service
- Support daily prep and assist with food production
- Ensure mise-en-place is organised, labelled, and ready for service
- Run a section confidently during service
- Support the wider kitchen team when required
- Maintain high standards of quality, presentation, and speed under pressure
- Ensure dishes are prepared to spec and served consistently
- Maintain excellent standards of food presentation
- Work to exceed guest expectations through quality and attention to detail
- Contribute ideas that match the vibe and aesthetic of the wine bar
- Follow all health & safety and food hygiene regulations
- Maintain a clean and sanitised kitchen environment during and after service
- Store, label and rotate food correctly
- Wrap unused items and store them in the correct areas at the end of shift
- Communicate with the Head Chef when maintenance/repairs are needed
- Use kitchen equipment correctly and report any issues quickly
- Experience in a similar role.
- Have a strong team spirit.
- Attention to details and customer needs.
- Good organisational and leadership skills.
- Flexibility to respond quickly and positively to a range of work situations.
- Be well spoken with excellent communication skills.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
