Role Overview
The Sales Assistant builds a following of loyal customers, acting as a consultant rather than a clerk. The assistant follows up promptly and establishes rapport to determine customer needs, presenting appropriate products.
Key Responsibilities- Sales Generation:
- Understand key company and personal KPIs, actively seeking to exceed or meet them.
- Proactively build company and product knowledge to demonstrate understanding to the customer.
- After closing a sale, monitor details including shipping, alterations (if applicable) and special requests to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Continuously enhance sales techniques to drive sales.
- Comply with all sales‑related policies and procedures.
- Take ownership of your role and support the store team to achieve goals.
- Maintain interest in the fashion industry and market trends.
- Undertake daily tasks as required by the store management team.
- Customer Service:
- Continuously strive to provide the highest level of customer service.
- Handle customer enquiries quickly and efficiently, escalating to management where appropriate.
- Build and maintain a client book, ensuring all new client information is captured correctly in the POS system.
- Resolve client problems and complaints quickly and effectively, ensuring satisfaction.
- Operations:
- Keep the selling floor and product neat, organised and stocked.
- Assist in the maintenance of all inventory in the stockroom and on the selling floor.
- Assist in all areas of stock, shipping, receiving protocol/policies and related paperwork.
- Participate in inventories.
- Comply with all point-of-sale policies and procedures.
- Properly execute all relevant register functions.
- Adhere to work schedule, including time and attendance.
- Participate in all relevant training and development seminars, programs and meetings as directed by store management.
- Help monitor store security through vigilant customer service and consistent application of store changing room procedures and tagging.
- Adhere to all internal audit processes and procedures.
- Experience working in a similar position for a premium or luxury brand.
- Experience developing customer rapport to drive sales.
- Dynamic interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proactive, able to motivate oneself to meet company expectations.
- Exceptional time management skills.
- Demonstrable relationship building skills, able to collaborate and motivate peers.
- KPI-focused, experience driving sales to meet or exceed commercial targets.
- Resilient with demonstrable experience displaying positivity when faced with challenges.

- Excellent attention to detail.
