Why we want youOur shops help raise lots of money for us. It’s always lovely chatting to our customers about the fabulous items we sell and telling them about the fantastic work that we do. You’ll get the chance to meet new people, make friends, and be part of an amazing team of volunteers.
Our shops play a key role in our work, and all profits go to helping more pets in need. By volunteering, your contribution has an impact far into the future. Our Volunteer Shop Assistants help with the day‑to‑day running of our shops, sorting donations and preparing items for sale.
We’d ideally like you to volunteer one shift per week, about 4 hours, but flexible times are encouraged. No special skills are needed; training is provided. If you have experience or a particular interest, it may be useful.
What you will be doing- Sorting donated items and checking their quality before sale.
- Steaming clothes to ensure all donated items are in top condition.
- Pricing items for display.
- Housekeeping in the stock room.
- Replenishing stock on the shop floor.
- An interest in the shop and enthusiasm for raising money.
- Ability to work as part of a team and cooperate with other volunteers.
- High standards to ensure all sold items are top quality.
- Willingness to help with a range of tasks and undertake tasks as requested.
- Support and training in all areas of retail and customer service from the Charity Shop Manager.

The shift hours are flexible and there is no minimum time commitment to be a volunteer. To volunteer in our shops there is a minimum age of 14.
