The Role

As Senior Merchandiser, you will manage trading performance, international pricing, stock planning and reporting across a growing product range. Managing a Merchandising Assistant, you will take ownership of weekly and seasonal analysis, budgets and reorder, ensuring senior stakeholders have accurate, accessible and commercially meaningful information.

You will combine analytical rigour with strong product and commercial awareness, helping the business make informed decisions across pricing, margin, inventory and availability. This is a highly collaborative role, working closely with Buying, Operations, Finance and the DC, and bringing automation and AI-supported tools into reporting and planning as the function scales.

  • Manage budgets, WSSI and OTB in line with financial goals, sharing accurate forecasts with Logistics, Trade and Studio.
  • Collaborate with Buying on category, maker and own-label budgets, developing strategies to maximise the range; pulling together budget packs by category, price point and maker, and lead lessons-learnt reviews.
  • Run the AI-supported reorder model, delivering monthly suggestions aligned with budgets, minimising out-of-stocks and maintaining ideal stock levels, a well-developed core range and minimal fragmentation across collections.
  • Oversee the delivery schedule with the Merchandising Assistant, partnering with Buying, Logistics and Trade to ensure stock arrives on time, is well phased and flows smoothly through the DC and Studio.
Trading, Reporting & Analysis
  • Drive weekly and seasonal trading reporting and analysis, identifying risks, opportunities and recommended actions, and maintaining accurate reporting across all key metrics.
  • Present in the Weekly Trade Meeting and Monthly Business Review, sharing trade updates, opportunities and actions.
  • Track the department's KPIs, including sales, margin, sell-through, stock cover and intake against plan, working with Customer, Trade and Logistics teams to protect stock turn, margin and profit targets.
  • Safeguard stock integrity, running the stock bridge and working with Logistics and Finance on damages, write-offs and stock balance to maximise the online offer and minimise losses.
  • Flag operational risks proactively, bringing dynamic thinking and the confidence to challenge where needed.
  • Establish international pricing, working with Finance on FX rates, taxes, duties and fees to maximise profit across markets, while staying alert to changing tariffs and mindful of shipping and contribution margin.
  • Continually monitor sales performance, market activity and competitor pricing across geographies to identify commercial opportunities.
  • Support supplier relationships to grow sales and profit, working with Buying on terms and targets to maximise margin, reduce deposit exposure and keep signed terms up to date, and suggesting strategic improvements based on budget planning.
Systems & Data Integrity
  • Align systems between Merchandising and Trade, and monitor stock levels across platforms, keeping information and true stock levels accurate and reflected in Shopify.
  • Ensure all systems are accurately updated for key information, including pricing uploads, and keep price files on Global-E and the ERP up to date.
  • Develop ways of working and process improvements as the business grows, integrating automation and AI-supported models into reporting and planning.
Team Management
  • Manage and mentor the Merchandising Assistant, providing day-to-day direction, coaching and workload prioritisation, and balancing trading needs with longer-term projects.
  • Facilitate resolution of damages for the Merchandising Assistant, working with the Stock Controller and Buying Admins to close stock queries as quickly as possible.
