Primary objective of the job:As aMenswear
Junior Buyer,you will strategically develop and select a product range which maximises sales opportunities and anticipates and exceeds customer needs. Therole includes sourcing product, negotiating cost prices which meet financial targets and market position, allwhilst ensuring products meet the company quality and safety standards.
You willhave the ability to manage multiple product categories varying lead times.
Range Development
- Workwiththe Designteamtoensuretheinspirationalrangebalanceisachievedacrossmultipledepartment and product categories.
- Developacommercialrangetakingintoconsiderationthesupplychainprocess
- Providecommercialbalancebetweenaestheticsandfinancialtargets, working closely with the Merchandising function.
- Understand and evaluate thecapabilitiesofsupplierbasewhilst anticipating future sourcing requirements.
- Understandsbuyingcalendarofamulti-channel business.
- Research and react to relevant competitors.
- Work collaboratively with the menswear senior buyer to ensure development of a cohesive menswear range
- Monitorthesalesperformanceweeklytoevaluateandproposeandimplementany actions that need to be taken, maximising growth areas while managing risk
- Clearunderstandingofthecommercialdriversofthebusiness,relatingtheseto the product strategyfromdesignconceptto delivery
- Makedecisionsincontextofcorrectcommercialbalancebetweenaestheticsand profit without compromising brand values.
- Negotiatingpricestodelivertargetmarginforareaofresponsibility.
- Abilitytoagreeandsetdeliverydatesinlinewiththecriticalpathand be aware of key milestones.
- Prepareinitialoutlinesforrangeplan,keepinginmindthecomplex needsof amulti-channel business.
- Excellentrangeplanningskills,workingcloselywith
Merchandise and
Design functions. - Working with Production and Garment Techsto deliver product that adheres tobrand quality standards.
