This is a hybrid role based in London. You must live within commuting distance of our office at The Walkie Talkie (20
Fenchurch St) and be willing to come in weekly. The role involves about 30% travel. You must live in the UK for this role.
As a Senior Advisory Solutions Consultant, you are the technical lead during the sales process. You will work with the sales team to show prospective clients how Appian’s platform works in practice, articulate the business value a prospective client can expect, and co‑create solutions with them, using your technical background to help shape their long‑term strategy.
What you’ll do- Work with Account Executives to meet sales goals across large Financial Services & Insurance accounts in the UK and Ireland.
- Manage all technical aspects of a sales cycle, from initial meetings to final presentations.
- Work with the AE to complete comprehensive discovery and fully understand the clients business needs.
- Write and organize technical responses for RFPs and formal proposals.
- Build and present proof‑of‑concept applications that solve specific customer problems.
- Explain technical details and business benefits to executives and stakeholders.
- Represent Appian at industry events, conferences, and seminars.
- Build long‑term relationships with technical staff at target accounts.
- Collaborate with internal teams to get the resources or information needed to close a deal.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Experience: 10+ years as a Solutions Consultant or Sales Engineer for enterprise software.
- Technical Background: Hands‑on technical experience such as previous Software Engineer or Technical Consultant roles.
- Sales Partnership: View yourself as a partner to the sales team, taking equal responsibility for account planning and revenue targets.
- Technical Knowledge: Comfortable answering deep functional questions and discussing production environments, including APIs, application servers, and databases.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience working with large Financial Services & Insurance organizations.
