Overview

The Business Development Manager – Corporate Sales – plays a key role in driving revenue by converting business opportunities and maximizing hotel profit through sales of conference and event spaces and guest rooms. The role involves coaching, mentoring, and leading a team to achieve the business plan and associated targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Director of Sales West in converting enquiries into confirmed sales by completing proposals and following up in a timely manner, conducting show rounds when appropriate, and developing repeat business to contribute to hotel profitability.
  • Ensure all SOPs are adhered to and implement new strategies and procedures as appropriate.
  • Act as a member of the team, contributing to revenue maximization and business generation.
  • Handle customer enquiries professionally, maintaining high standards of service and responding within 24 hours.
  • Perform all administrative tasks efficiently and timely.
  • Proactively identify customer needs and provide solutions that match and exceed expectations.
  • Build strong working relationships with clients and understand their specific needs.
  • Convert enquiries into confirmed bookings, demonstrating confidence through call control and upselling.
  • Effectively manage diary to maximize yield and revenue per available meeting room and bedroom, while evaluating conversion statistics and lead times.
  • Respond positively to sales opportunities, identify new accounts and contacts, and develop sales leads.
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with all departments to maximize yield and space utilization.
  • Create accurate quotations and contracts in line with departmental standards.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date customer records in Opera S&C and sales databases following best practices.
  • Contribute to development and fine‑tuning of office and departmental systems.
  • Maintain excellent product knowledge and deliver product benefits to clients.
  • Keep up‑to‑date on competitor services, installations, renovations, and ongoing promotions, communicating updates to the team.
  • Review payments pre-, during, and post‑event with clients, ensuring accurate backups and standard compliance.
