Proposals Manager Commercial Energy Technology Solution-led SaaS Hybrid London (UK)

Are you a bid/proposals professional who enjoys owning complex, bespoke submissions end-to-end and driving inputs from busy technical and commercial teams to get high-quality proposals out the door?

Do you want a role where you’ll help scale a growing proposals function, improve the content library and process, and play a visible part in winning business with utility customers?

The Company:

Our client is a global energy technology company helping utility and grid customers operate more efficiently and support the renewable energy transition. Their work is solution-led and customer‑specific (not commodity/off‑the‑shelf), with proposals that require strong coordination, commercial awareness, and clear communication across multiple levels of the business.

The Role:

As Proposals Manager, you’ll manage the full proposal development process across RFPs, RFIs and EOIs. You’ll coordinate inputs from Sales, Product, Engineering, Operations and Project Delivery to ensure submissions are accurate, compelling, commercially aligned, and delivered on time.

This role is not about churning out hundreds of tenders; proposals are bespoke and solution‑driven, and you’ll be the person who keeps momentum, tightens quality, and helps build a more scalable library of content and tools as volumes grow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end proposal development (RFPs, RFIs, EOIs), ensuring submissions meet customer requirements and internal quality standards.
  • Drive inputs from technical and commercial teams, keeping timelines on track and pushing priorities when needed.
  • Build bid plans, manage internal reviews/approvals, and ensure compliance and consistency before submission.
  • Support costing and pricing exercises using established tools, templates and assumptions.
  • Maintain and improve templates, boilerplate content and case studies; continuously refine processes to increase efficiency as volumes grow.
  • Maintain accurate opportunity and proposal data in Salesforce to support visibility and reporting.
  • Support smooth handover of won opportunities into delivery teams.
Experience & Skills
  • 5+ years experience in proposals, bids or commercial support roles.
  • Experience in energy, utilities, infrastructure, or solution‑led SaaS selling into utility‑style customers (strongly preferred).
  • Comfortable producing tailored, solution‑driven submissions rather than commodity/off‑the‑shelf products.
  • Able to work across operational teams through to senior leadership.
  • Highly organised, proactive and confident driving inputs across teams.
  • Confident using Salesforce to manage opportunity flow and reporting.
