Sales Executive; Freight forwarding

Position: Sales Executive (Freight forwarding)
Our client is a well-established international freight forwarding group with a strong UK presence and a proven record of profitability, stability and growth. They are now seeking a Business Development Manager to generate new opportunities across selected industry sectors. This is not a high-volume cold-calling position; the focus is on using established industry relationships to open doors, shorten sales cycles and secure meaningful commercial conversations.

Working closely with senior leadership, the successful candidate will identify, develop and convert new business opportunities while promoting specialist services across freight forwarding, customs, GDP, temperature-controlled logistics and international supply chain solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Generate new commercial opportunities across the pharmaceutical, , automotive and food sectors.
Create, nurture and convert a pipeline of profitable new customer accounts.
Lead the sales process from initial prospecting and qualification through to handover and implementation.
Arrange and deliver customer meetings, presentations and commercial discussions.
Present specialist logistics solutions, including GDP-compliant services, customs support, ATA carnets and temperature-controlled operations.
Keep CRM records, activity updates and pipeline reporting accurate and up to date.
Collaborate with operational colleagues to support a smooth customer onboarding process and effective service delivery.

What We're Looking For

At least five years' experience in freight forwarding, logistics, 3PL or supply chain business development.
A proven network of customer contacts in at least one of the following sectors:
Pharmaceutical
Manufacturing
Automotive Processing Your Data
