Location: Greater London

At Fair Art, we are creating a fairer, more profitable art market for all.

Founded on the principles of accessibility and equitability, Fair Art is creating the industry's first collector-to-collector live marketplace and global artist royalty scheme for the secondary art market.

Our platform offers collectors and artists innovative solutions to many of the industry's long-standing issues around opacity, ownership, elitism, inaccessibility, illiquidity and high fees.

Fair Art is:

  • Fair for the buyer
    - Creates complete price transparency and access to unrivalled information
  • Fair for the seller
    - Offers the quickest route to sale in the market with industry-leading fees
  • Fair for the artist
    - Establishes the first equitable international framework for compensation

We are rebalancing the scales and bringing the market to a new generation of consumers.

With more than 35,000 collector sign-ups, this role is focused on turning that base into active, repeat buyers.

The Role

We're hiring a driven Sales Development Representative to activate Fair Art's existing base of 35,000+ collector sign-ups.

You'll spend a significant part of your day on the phone - plus email and Whats App - working through a structured cadence to convert sign-ups into first-time buyers and turn first-time buyers into repeat purchasers.

This is a high-volume, metrics-driven role, ideal for someone early in their sales career who wants to prove themselves and has ambitions to grow into a bigger commercial role.

Key Responsibilities Outbound Collector Outreach
  • Make consistent outbound calls, plus email/Whats App follow-up, to Fair Art's existing 35k+ sign-up base
  • Build genuine, lasting relationships with collectors across the 35k base - this is a relationship-building role, not a script-reading one
  • Run the follow-up cadences and lead-handling process defined by the Sales & Partnerships Lead
  • Convert dormant sign-ups into first-time buyers and past buyers into repeat purchasers, owning the full arc from first contact to closed sale
  • Negotiate margin opportunities as they surface in conversation, converting them into completed sales
  • Carry an individual revenue target and take direct responsibility for turning collector conversations into completed purchases.
  • Uncover each collector's interests, budget, motivations, timing and decision-making criteria.
  • Build a compelling case for each opportunity using pricing, availability, provenance, condition and market context.
  • Negotiate offers with buyers and sellers, including higher-margin opportunities, and convert them into profitable completed sales.
  • Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities based on each collector's existing purchases, preferred artists and budget.
  • Turn successful transactions into repeat business by continuing the relationship after the first purchase.
  • Manage prospects through every stage, from first contact to completed purchase
  • Log every call, outcome, and next step accurately in the CRM
  • Qualify and segment collectors by interest, budget, and buying stage
  • Flag high-value or complex collectors to the Sales & Partnerships Lead for advisory follow-up
  • Hit weekly and monthly targets for purchases generated, calls made and conversations had
About You
  • Commercially ambitious, competitive and motivated by measurable results
  • 1+ years of experience in a gallery, auction house, art fair, or other art-world sales role
  • Strong understanding of contemporary art and the collector market, enough to speak credibly and build trust in conversations
  • Comfortable negotiating price and terms directly with collectors, not just running a fixed script
  • Excellent phone manner and communication skills to build trust quickly.
  • Organised, with strong follow-through and comfort using CRM systems
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving startup environment
Highly Desirable
  • Existing experience in outbound/inside sales, telesales, or account management
  • Existing network of collectors or contemporary art contacts
What Success Looks Like
  • Consistent weekly call volume and CRM hygiene
  • Measurable increase in first-time buyers from the existing signup base
  • Measurable increase in repeat purchases from past buyers
  • A track record that supports promotion into a more senior sales role over time
Why Join Us?
  • Competitive salary + commission/bonus structure package
  • Direct mentorship from the CEO and the Fair Art's Sales & Partnerships Lead
  • A clear path to a more senior, advisory sales role as you build track record and market knowledge
  • Flexible, hybrid role based at Somerset House, London
  • Real ownership over your own pipeline from day one
  • Don't meet every single requirement? Fair Art is dedicated to building a diverse and inclusive team, so we encourage you to apply anyway
