The Executive Vice President of Sales will be responsible for leading and developing the company's UK commercial function, with overall accountability for revenue generation across sponsorship, exhibition sales, delegate acquisition and key account management activities.
This person will play a pivotal role in driving commercial performance, enhancing sales effectiveness and building a high-performing revenue organisation capable of supporting the company's continued growth ambitions.
The successful candidate will bring a proven track record of leading sizeable sales teams within conferences, exhibitions and events, combining strategic leadership with strong operational execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the UK sales strategy in line with the company's growth objectives.
- Lead all UK-based commercial and operational teams, ensuring alignment, accountability and consistent performance.
- Partner with the executive leadership team to identify growth opportunities and optimise commercial performance across the portfolio.
- Create and embed a high-performance sales culture focused on growth, customer engagement and operational excellence.
- Lead, coach and develop a commercial organisation of approximately 50 professionals through a team of direct reports.
- Build leadership capability and succession plans across the sales function.
- Establish clear performance metrics and accountability frameworks.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and professional development.
Revenue Growth
- Hold full accountability for delivery of revenue targets across conferences, exhibitions, sponsorship and delegate sales.
- Drive new business acquisition while maximising client retention, renewal and upselling opportunities.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase average contract value, customer lifetime value and overall sales productivity.
Ideal Candidate
- Significant sales leadership experience within conferences, exhibitions and events sectors.
- A demonstrable track record of leading large commercial and operational teams and delivering substantial revenue growth.
- Experience managing multi-million-pound revenue portfolios and complex sales environments.
- Strong leadership credentials, with the ability to motivate, develop and retain top commercial talent.
- Excellent strategic, analytical and commercial skills.
- Strong executive presence with exceptional relationship-building and stakeholder management capabilities.
