Job Description

As Assistant Director of Sales, you will be the ambassador for Cambridge House, driving revenue through leisure and corporate segments. You will play a key role in shaping our commercial strategy from the ground up, establishing a foundation of exceptional service, partnership, and prestige across the sales team. This role has direct responsibility for the development and management of the International (Europe, Asia, Australia) markets, encompassing both Leisure and Corporate segments across key global source markets.

The Assistant Director of Sales is responsible for cultivating relationships with key travel partners, corporate accounts, luxury agencies, and consortia accounts to position Cambridge House as London’s premier luxury hotel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the second-in-command to the Director of Sales, providing leadership, guidance, and support across the Sales Department.
  • Drive the commercial strategy for Cambridge House, identifying opportunities to grow revenue, market share, and profitability across international corporate and leisure markets.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans aligned with the House’s commercial objectives, opening strategy, and long-term positioning.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with key international corporate accounts, luxury travel advisors, consortia, agencies, and strategic partners.
  • Lead business development initiatives within international source markets, identifying new revenue opportunities and expanding market presence.
  • Collaborate with Revenue Management to optimise business mix, pricing strategies, account production, and forecasting.
  • Partner closely with Marketing, Operations, Reservations, and Events to ensure commercial initiatives are successfully executed across the guest journey.
  • Analyse market intelligence, competitor activity, and emerging travel trends to inform strategic decision-making and sales priorities.
  • Lead negotiations for high-value corporate and leisure agreements.
  • Represent Cambridge House at international trade shows, sales missions, networking events, and industry showcases, strengthening the House’s global presence.
  • Mentor, coach, and support the Sales team, cultivating a collaborative, high-performing culture and contributing to individual development.
  • Monitor sales performance, pipeline activity, forecasting, and CRM reporting to ensure departmental objectives and revenue targets are achieved.
  • Act on behalf of the Director of Sales when required, ensuring continuity of leadership and commercial focus.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in leisure sales within high-end hotels or luxury travel environments.
  • Established international relationships within luxury travel and corporate travel, including with prominent individuals and key influencers.
  • Proven record of success managing international transient leisure and corporate accounts.
  • Strong commercial acumen and leadership skills.
