As a Business Development Manager, your core responsibilities will include conducting market research, networking, and prospecting to uncover potential business opportunities. You'll be responsible for building and maintaining long-lasting relationships with clients, gaining a deep understanding of their needs, and providing tailored solutions that align with their goals. Collaboration with internal teams, such as sales and marketing, will be essential to develop effective strategies and achieve revenue targets.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in business development or sales, preferably within the furniture/workplace industry, with direct experience selling to end-users. They will possess exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. A university degree is preferred, and a background in end-user sales is essential. Key characteristics for success in this role include curiosity, determination, being an active listener, creativity, strong communication skills, and a positive attitude.
Requirements Identify and develop new business opportunities through research, networking, and prospecting
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions
Collaborate with internal teams to develop effective sales strategies and achieve revenue targets
Prepare and deliver compelling presentations to clients, showcasing the value of our products and services
Negotiate contracts and close deals with clients, ensuring favourable terms for both parties
Track sales performance metrics and provide regular reports to management
Proven experience in business development or sales, preferably in the furniture/workplace industry
Experience in selling direct to end-users is a must.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients at all levels
Proactive mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for growth
Strong negotiation and closing skills
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
Experience of value selling.
Previous background in end-user sales is essential.
Ideally a university degree.
