We’re looking for an experienced and commercially driven Regional Sales Manager to lead our London Heartland team and play a key role in the continued growth of one of our most important On-Trade sectors.
What do we mean by "Heartland"?At Berkmann, Heartland refers to London’s independent restaurant sector focused on European, Mediterranean and related cuisines - including Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Greek, Turkish, Lebanese/Levantine and North African restaurants. It is a diverse, relationship-led part of the On-Trade and an important market for our portfolio.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows the London trade, enjoys being out with customers and teams, and can combine strong people management with real commercial delivery.
What you’ll be doing- Leading, motivating and developing a team of 5 Sales Account Managers
- Delivering the Heartland team sales budget alongside your own personal sales targets
- Spending significant time out in the trade
, coaching the team and building strong customer relationships - Identifying and winning profitable, sustainable new business
- Protecting and developing existing customer relationships
- Growing the presence of our key agency wines across the independent On-Trade
- Working closely with the Head of Sales and the Commercial Director to deliver our London sales strategy
- Supporting performance through clear KPIs, regular reviews and strong day-to-day leadership
- Working cross-functionally with Marketing, Purchasing, Finance and Credit Control to deliver the best commercial outcomes
You’ll have proven sales management experience, strong knowledge of the wine industry and On-Trade environment, and a track record of developing people and delivering commercial results.
You’ll be confident, energetic and commercially minded, with excellent communication and relationship-building skills and a genuine passion for wine and hospitality.
Essential:- Proven sales management experience
- Strong On-Trade and wine industry knowledge
- Excellent leadership and coaching skills
- WSET Level 3
Experience of the London market, premium or luxury brands and agency wines would be a real advantage. WSET Level 4 is desirable.
