Are you an organised and enthusiastic Science Technician looking to support teaching and learning in a vibrant secondary school?
Our school in the London Borough of Southwark is seeking a dedicated Laboratory Technician to join our successful Science Department.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with laboratory experience, a scientific background, or previous experience as a School Science Technician/Lab Assistant.

💼 Key Responsibilities
 
* Prepare, set up, and maintain laboratory equipment and resources for Biology, Chemistry, and Physics lessons.
 
* Support teachers during practical sessions and ensure all experiments are carried out safely.
 
* Maintain stock levels, order materials, and manage chemical and equipment inventories.
 
* Ensure laboratories, prep rooms, and equipment are kept clean, organised, and compliant with health & safety regulations.
 
* Assist with demonstrations, experiment preparation, and the safe disposal of materials.
 
* Carry out routine maintenance and basic repairs on lab equipment.
 
* Work closely with the Science Department to support high-quality teaching and learning.
📌 Ideal Candidate
 
* Experience as a Science Technician, Laboratory Technician, School Lab Technician, or similar role.
 
* Strong understanding of laboratory safety procedures, CLEAPSS guidance, and risk assessments.
 
* Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
 
* A science-related qualification (GCSEs, A-Levels or Degree in a STEM subject) is highly desirable.
 
* Confident working with chemicals, lab equipment, and scientific apparatus.
