Job OverviewPositions:
Security Relief Officer: up to 36‑hour contracts available (must be able to work days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays when necessary).
Hourly rate: £13.85 per hour, breaks paid, officers remain on site.
Mandatory- 5 years background check is compulsory.
- In‑date SIA Security Guard or Door Supervisor licence.
- First aid preferred, but we can provide training.
- Basic IT skills – able to use a laptop, PC and mobile phone.
- Must be able to pass Police Vetting NPPV1 / CTC.
- Free travel on London Transport (Tubes, Buses and TfL London Overground); this is non‑contractual.
- After 6 months, if asked to work in main control rooms you could receive free CCTV training and licence.

The Role
- Deliver an excellent high‑level customer service.
- Ensure all duties are completed in full to a very high standard.
- Report and act on any security breach, with follow‑up action.
- Assist with any security, safety or criminal investigation.
- Actively use the Merlin system for logging patrols, incident reports, helpdesk reports and daily occurrence book logs (training provided).
- Conduct external and internal site patrols and checks of buildings and car parks.
- Carry out duties for fire alarms and/or building evacuations.
- Carry out tests of fire alarm systems (after training).
- Act as first‑aider (once trained).
- Support events at SG or DS level.
- Ensure compliance with all policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Fully and satisfactorily complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within Assignment Instructions (AI’s), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Risk Assessments (RA’s), memos and toolbox talks.
- Be compliant with industry and statutory legislation.
- Attend further training/courses as directed.
- Comply with legal obligations and safety requirements of the role.
- Follow instructions and procedures appropriately without unnecessarily challenging authority.
- Smart and very presentable.
- Demonstrate problem‑solving skills.
- Multi‑task and prioritise daily workloads.
- Maintain a smart appearance while on duty.
- Reliable, self‑motivated and able to use own initiative; work without supervision.
- Work with and deal with people at all levels.
- Confident and interested in self‑development.
- Want to continuously improve the company’s performance.
- Very good communicator.
- Maintain an excellent record of attendance and timekeeping.
- Fit enough to perform manual handling in a goods in/out environment.
- Fit enough to stand front‑of‑house for prolonged periods, carry out foot patrols, walk up and down stairs.
- Basic level of experience using Word and Excel.
Able to read and write basic English (crucial for reading instructions and writing clearly).
