This is a hands‑on, customer‑facing role where you'll combine vigilance with approachability, providing visible security, responsive support, and a positive first impression every day.

As a Security Officer, you will be at the heart of campus life, ensuring a safe, secure, and positive environment. We're seeking someone who is proactive, professional, and passionate about delivering excellent service.

What you'll do
  • Acting as a first point of contact for visitors and contractors, delivering a professional and friendly welcome
  • Carrying out patrols, monitoring CCTV, and securing buildings and grounds
  • Responding swiftly and effectively to incidents, alarms, and emergencies
  • Managing access control, key systems, and visitor logs
  • Supporting incident management and ensuring accurate, timely reporting
  • Working collaboratively with the Sodexo team and client stakeholders
  • Promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety standards
What you bring
  • Valid SIA Licence
  • 3‑5 years' experience in a security role
  • Strong understanding of CCTV, alarms, and security systems
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • High attention to detail with strong report‑writing skills
  • Good IT literacy and understanding of data protection
Desirable
  • CCTV Licence
  • First Aid and/or Fire Warden certification
  • Knowledge of BS7858:2013 standards
