Are you passionate about making a difference in your local community? We're looking for a proactive and customer-focused Housing Officer to join a dedicated Housing Services team for a local authority in West London.
OverviewThis is a full-time, office-based role where you will be at the heart of our neighbourhoods, delivering a high-quality tenancy and leasehold management service to general needs and sheltered residents. You ll manage your own patch of properties, building strong relationships with residents, supporting sustainable tenancies, and creating communities where people are proud to live.
Responsibilities- Deliver tenancy and leasehold management services to general needs and sheltered residents across your patch of properties.
- Conduct tenancy audits and sign-ups; investigate breaches, anti-social behaviour, and illegal occupancy.
- Support fire safety compliance, safeguarding, and respond to estate emergencies.
- Ensure residents are linked to the right services and support.
- Minimise void rent loss and assist residents in moving into suitable homes.
- Provide frontline insight to improve housing services and minimise void rent loss.
- Strong communicator, confident in taking action, making decisions, and representing the council in court, tribunals, and multi-agency meetings.
- Resilient, community-minded, and knowledgeable about housing legislation and best practice.
