Overview
We are seeking skilled and compassionate individuals to join the new NHS Children and Young People’s Gender Service (London) as a Specialist Therapeutic Practitioner. The role will be part of the Waiting Well project, co-producing, evaluating and delivering a support package to young people and families on the waiting list for gender services.
Key ExpectationsWe encourage part‑time applications from staff already working within other NHS Services, especially other CAMH services, to transfer knowledge and skills in line with the Cass Review recommendations.
Responsibilities and Experience- Experience working therapeutically as a registered and regulated practitioner in their relevant field (e.g., clinical, counselling or systemic family therapy) with children or adolescents with complex presentations, preferably with gender‑questioning children.
- Experience in assessment and management of children and young people experiencing neurodiversity and social vulnerability, and expertise in safeguarding and child protection processes.
- Involvement in service improvement and design, capable of working objectively in a high external scrutiny service while delivering the best care aligned with a new service specification.
