We work with young people and adults in custody and in the community, providing services such as offender management and resettlement, mentoring, veteran support, victim services, gangs work and youth justice.
This role is a frontline practitioner within our Personal Wellbeing services in the London region. Commissioned by HMPPS, the services support adult male ex‑offenders across the following four pathways:
- Family and Significant Others
- Lifestyle and Associates
- Social Inclusion
The position is a Wellbeing Practitioner – Prison Lead based at one of our pan‑London hubs, with frequent travel across their clusters. Base preference may be stated in your application:
- Croydon
- Romford
- Canning Town
- Kings Cross
- Brixton
- Ealing
- Lewisham
About the role:
The Wellbeing Practitioner – Prison Lead is responsible for supporting service users to address their needs and improve prospects, acting as a positive influence for change.
- Manage a caseload of service users, completing ongoing assessments and managing individual needs, capacity, opportunity, and motivation to rehabilitate.
- Deliver interventions to support rehabilitation.
- Work in partnership with local providers, HMPPS, the voluntary sector and other criminal justice organisations, taking into account risk information.
- Confident, professional, and adaptable, able to work effectively in challenging environments.
- Excellent communication skills, able to build and manage strong working relationships, share knowledge and skills to achieve shared goals.
- Capable of motivating and supporting service users to change through one‑to‑one and group interventions.
- Able to identify and recognise risk, and act according to risk management procedures to enable service users to manage their safety and that of others.
- Proactively manage a caseload, utilising digital systems, and accurately share information with strong attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Good basic education, including Maths and English GCSE or equivalent.
- Evidence of continual professional development.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office – Word and Excel.
- Desirable: any qualification relevant to working with those in the criminal justice system (e.g., criminology, criminal justice, social care, mental health, IAG, family).

Community‑based role with travel across various delivery and training sites across London.
- Successful candidates must pass an enhanced DBS check, HMPPS Level 1 vetting, and a Right to Work in the UK check.
