About Us:
Located in the heart of South London, Lambeth Borough is a vibrant community of over 317,600 residents. Stretching from the dynamic neighbourhood of Streatham in the South to the iconic landmarks of Waterloo in the North, we are proud to be the 9th largest borough in London. Our diversity is our strength, with more than 130 languages spoken, making Lambeth the home of the Windrush generation, London's largest LGBTQ+ community, and a thriving Portuguese-speaking community.
With exceptional schools, lush green spaces including Brockwell Park, cultural gems like the Black Cultural Archives, and world-renowned institutions such as St Thomas's Hospital, Lambeth offers an enriching and dynamic environment.
iCASis a large team of Social Workers, Social Care Trusted Assessors and Occupational Therapists. We are a fast-paced team providing a comprehensive, holistic social care service to Lambeth residents.
We are at the forefront of Adult Social Care’s service to Lambeth delivering a comprehensive assessment service to vulnerable adults.
About the Role:
An opportunity has arisen for an Assessor to work in iCAS. The role is to complete assessments under the Care Act 2014, as an unqualified social worker, and after further training undertake work as a Social Care Trusted Assessor.
We screen all new referrals that come into Lambeth Adult Social Care, provide information and advice and consider eligibility for formal services under the Care Act 2014.
We are looking for colleagues who will look first at what people can do rather than what they can't do and have conversations that identify what is important to the person, 'what matters' rather than 'what's the matter'. We believe that by exploring people's goals and aspirations, and the strengths our clients have themselves or have around them, we can help people to stay independent for longer and remain connected to their communities.
To be considered for interview, your CV and supporting statement will clearly evidence how you meet the shortlisting criteria on the personal specification marked “A” for application:
We operate an anonymised application process, so be sure to remove personal details when uploading your CV or personal statement.
Adult Social Care in Lambeth is one of the highest performing services in the country. In 2026, we received a strong overall “Good” rating from the Care Quality Commission and our commitment to equity and inclusion in the borough was rated as “Outstanding”.
At Lambeth, we are dedicated to providing quality services and equal opportunities for all. We are committed to safer recruitment and are proud to be a Stonewall diversity champion, a Living Wage Employer, and to guarantee interviews for all disabled candidates who meet the minimum criteria of the role.
