Income Maximisation Officer – Temporary Contract
Location:
Wembley (Hybrid Working) Rate: £21.41 PAYE / £28.19 Umbrella (LTD)
Hours:
Full-time, Monday to Friday (9:00am – 5:00pm)

Basic DBS required About the Role We are recruiting an experienced Income Officer to support Housing Management in maximising rental income through effective arrears management and resident engagement. This is a varied and impactful role where you will work across multiple housing tenures and service areas, helping residents sustain tenancies while ensuring income recovery targets are met. You will also contribute to key projects aimed at improving income in challenging service areas.
Key Responsibilities Maximise rental income through proactive arrears prevention, collection, and recovery across varied housing portfolios Deliver a fully compliant rent collection service in line with legislation and policy Provide high-quality, customer-focused service—taking ownership of enquiries and resolving issues efficiently Support residents with welfare benefit advice, particularly around housing benefits and welfare reform changes Engage with tenants to provide guidance on debt management and refer to specialist support services where appropriate Work collaboratively with Housing Needs, Adult Social Care, and Housing Management teams to deliver holistic, person-centred support Achieve KPIs set by the Income Maximisation Service Manager Contribute to income maximisation projects across areas such as:
New & Independent Living Temporary Accommodation Brent Direct Leasing Supported Housing Ensure arrears are consistently reduced by enforcing rent collection policies and procedures Carry out home visits and site-based working to engage directly with tenants in arrears Skills & Experience Strong experience in income recovery, rent arrears, or housing income services Good knowledge of welfare benefits, particularly housing-related entitlements Ability to manage sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism Experience working across services to deliver joined-up, resident-focused outcomes Target-driven with the ability to manage a varied workload Confident conducting home visits and engaging directly with residents Our Values We’re looking for someone who demonstrates:
