The Havering team is seeking an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to join its Children’s Safeguarding Team. This is a dynamic role focused on protecting vulnerable children and supporting families to achieve positive, sustainable outcomes.
You will manage a varied caseload and work collaboratively with multi‑agency partners to deliver high-quality safeguarding interventions in line with statutory responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a caseload of children and families, undertaking Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Children in Care (CIC) work in line with statutory responsibilities.
- Complete high-quality assessments, risk assessments, and care planning to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes.
- Lead and contribute to child protection investigations, strategy discussions, Public Law Outline (PLO) processes, and court proceedings where required.
- Work collaboratively with children, families, and multi‑agency partners to develop effective interventions and ensure plans are regularly reviewed.
- Maintain accurate and timely case recordings, reports, and documentation in accordance with legislative, departmental, and organisational requirements.
- Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification.
- Registered with Social Work England.
- Strong experience within Children's Safeguarding Services.
- Excellent knowledge of Child Protection, Child in Need, Public Law Outline (PLO) processes, court work, and statutory thresholds.
- Experience completing high-quality assessments and managing complex risk.
- Proficient in using children's social care recording systems and maintaining accurate case records.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi‑agency environment and build positive relationships with children and families.
