About the Role

The London Borough of Islington seeks a Qualified Children in Need Social Worker to support families through safeguarding and risk assessment. You will manage cases, progress plans, and work with multidisciplinary teams in a protected caseload environment.

• Safeguard children and assess risk.
• Create and progress collaborative care plans.
• Step cases up to care proceedings or down to targeted services where appropriate.
• Maintain transparent, strength‑based practice and build meaningful relationships.
• Provide reflective supervision and support to colleagues.

• Registered Social Worker with experience in Children in Need Services.
• Experience in safeguarding practice, risk assessment, and collaborative planning.
• Commitment to dignity, respect, empathy and child‑centred practice.
• Knowledge of cultural diversity and equality principles.

Eligibility for a comprehensive core training programme, intensive multidisciplinary support, MI skills training via a two‑stage interview process, and ongoing reflective supervision.
