Hours:
37 hours per week We are currently recruiting for an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join a Family Help team within a local authority. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive, locality-based team, helping children and families achieve positive outcomes through early intervention, safeguarding and multi-agency working.
The Role As a Social Worker within the Family Help team, you will manage a varied caseload, working directly with children, young people and their families to assess need, reduce risk and deliver effective interventions. Your responsibilities will include:
Managing a caseload of children and families requiring statutory intervention. Completing assessments, developing Family Help Plans and reviewing progress. Working closely with partner agencies to deliver coordinated support. Chairing and attending Child in Need, Core Group and Strategy Meetings. Undertaking safeguarding and risk assessments where concerns arise. Building positive relationships with children and families using a strengths-based approach. Preparing high-quality reports and maintaining accurate case records, including court work where required.
About You To be considered, you will have: A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent). Current Social Work England registration. At least 3 years' post-qualified experience within Children's Services. Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance.
Experience with in Family Help, Child Protection, Assessment or similar frontline teams. Excellent assessment, communication and report-writing skills. The ability to work effectively within a multi-agency environment. What's on Offer hourly rate of up to £30.57 per hour . Initial 3-month contract with the possibility of extension.
