Leasehold Income Officer
Join Our Team as a Leasehold Income Officer!
Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in the community? The London Borough of Hackney is seeking a dedicated Leasehold Income Officer to join our Leasehold Income Team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the effective recovery of service charges and other invoiced sums, including major works, shared ownership, ground rent, and reserve funds.
Responsibilities- Ensure the timely collection of owed sums and reduce arrears while maximizing income for the Council.
- Assess each case to determine the best course of action, pursuing legal routes or facilitating settlements.
- Liaise with legal services, solicitors, and financial institutions to resolve complex queries.
- Prepare documentation for legal actions.
- Maintain accurate records on electronic databases.
- Respond to income collection inquiries promptly, ensuring clear and sensitive communication with customers regarding their accounts.
- Attend resident meetings, provide advice on payment options, and identify support for vulnerable residents.
- Promote a culture of customer care and continuous improvement within Hackney Council.
- Experience in debt recovery within a housing environment.
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to manage workload efficiently and meet tight deadlines.
