About the Role
Do you have local government pension experience? An exciting opportunity has arisen within Islington Council’s Pension Team for a Pension Officer, who will be involved in all aspects of the day‑to‑day administration of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS). You will work within our Retirements Team to provide a customer‑focused pension service for Islington Council. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, performance driven, and able to prioritise work and meet critical deadlines.
Responsibilities- You will be responsible for performing a range of tasks including the calculation and processing of retirement and deferred benefits.
- You will have good interpersonal skills and the ability to respond to a high volume of member queries in relation to the LGPS.
- You will have a good knowledge of the LGPS Regulations to provide informed responses to enquiries from our members and employers.
- Excellent IT skills with a knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Up to 31 days leave per year, increasing to 36 days after five years of local government service.
