WORKING HOURS:

22.5 hours, Monday-Friday (daily hours negotiable) JOB OVERVIEW This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive difference to adults and children moving on from refuge accommodation into the community. As a Support Worker, you will provide practical and emotional support with resettlement, safety planning, grants, housing, utilities, education, health services and community resources. The Support Worker will help clients manage transitions, reduce isolation, build confidence and improve long-term resilience.

Working from a residential site, the Support Worker will liaise with internal teams and external agencies to ensure safe, client-led support. DUTIES Your duties as the Support Worker include:
Client Support and Resettlement:
Help clients and their children establish safe, stable new homes, including moving logistics, utilities, furnishings and essential household items Risk and Needs Assessment:
Use evidence-based tools to assess needs, identify safeguarding concerns and develop tailored support, safety and risk management plans Emotional Support:
Provide client-led emotional support, crisis management and practical guidance during planned or short-notice move-on from refuge Independence and Wellbeing:
Support clients with budgeting, bills, landlords, public transport, community resources and confidence-building Advocacy and Multi-Agency Working:
Advocate for clients and liaise with community services, neighbourhood teams, health services, education providers and other agencies Safety and Safeguarding:
Promote the long-term safety, security and wellbeing of families and report safeguarding concerns promptly Team

Collaboration:

Work closely with refuge staff to ensure a smooth handover as support moves from recovery to resettlement Records and Service Quality:
Maintain accurate records, support feedback and consultation, follow policies and contribute to high-quality service delivery CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS ESSENTIAL Minimum Level 3 qualification in a related field Good standard of general education, including GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade C or above Experience working with vulnerable adults and children, including recognising and responding to safeguarding concerns Experience working in a professional environment Experience providing direct, needs-led support, including risk and needs assessments and support planning Experience managing complex casework, trauma, crisis intervention and related support needs Experience coordinating support for individuals or families in a multi-agency setting Knowledge of domestic abuse, interpersonal violence and barriers to accessing support Excellent interpersonal skills, empathy, organisation and a hardworking approach Full driving licence with willingness to use own vehicle Due to an Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010, the post holder must be female Eligible to work in the UK DESIRABLE Experience building and maintaining partnerships with other agencies BENEFITS Mileage allowance Training and development opportunities Employee Assistance Programme Access to group clinical supervision with a BACP trained…
